DTF vs Sublimation
What is dtf (direct to film) and sublimation.
What is DTF?
Direct to film or dtf is a process that transfers prints onto fabric or other substrates using a heat-press mechanism. DTF can allow you to print easily on cotton, polyester, synthetic, or silk without any trouble. Plus, DTF prints can work on both dark and white fabrics along with any color in between. The design will be more vibrant but you will also feel the design on your shirt, crewneck, or hoodie.
What is Sublimation?
Sublimation is a printing process that includes printing a design onto special transfer paper using sublimation ink, placing the paper on the material to be printed on your garment, then applied with a heat press. The heat turns the ink into a gas, which is absorbed by the material which results in a design on the shirt you cannot feel and that will fade with the fibers of the shirt over time. Sublimation is limited to light colors and high polyester fabrics.
